The green on top — grown in Belgium, delivered roof-ready. Sedum cuttings, plugs and mats, herb seed, potted herbs and grasses: six ways to plant a layered roof, each with its own budget and biodiversity.
The unsung heroes between roof and garden. A 0.5 mm root barrier film for roofs that aren't root-resistant, a protection fleece of recycled textile fibres, and a white filter fleece that keeps substrate out of the drainage.

A green roof drinks when it rains and sips when it doesn't. Drainage boards of recycled polyethylene with built-in reservoirs buffer 8–12 L/m² and guide the surplus safely to the drain; a filter fleece on top stops it clogging.
Substrate is not potting soil — it's an engineered mineral mix of recycled crushed brick, lava, bims and green compost. It's 100% peat-free, and the extensive substrate holds up to 500 litres of water per m³.

The details that make it last: rolled gravel 16/32 for borders, aluminium L-profiles for a crisp edge, bendable Azobé wood laths, and inspection boxes so your drain stays reachable forever.
A green roof needs little maintenance, but some attention now and then! Granular or organic fertilisers are welcome to guarantee the quality and vitality of the plants in the longer term. Removing leaves from the roof is crucial. A leaf catcher and a protection box with lid are aids to keep the drain clear. Ask about our advice and maintenance contracts.

Living plants on the wall? Yes, it can be done! With a fitted irrigation system on a timer the plants stay in top form. Prefer a green view but no green fingers? Then choose an artificial wall.
Are bees and tits welcome in your garden? Combine our beehives and bird feeders with a green roof or green wall and turn your (roof) garden into a green home for creatures big and small.

Our complete kits bundle every layer, sized to your roof — with an installation manual included.
